Yes, we've all heard of affirmations. Of course, we've all "tried them" at some time. But did they work? Chances are, they did not. Does that mean that structurally, the idea of affirmations are unsound or that you have some kind of special talent to make affirmations work?

Affirmations work for some people, but not for others? Interestingly enough, the nature and structure of affirmations began to become quite clear to me when I started studying something else - namely magic spells and rituals.

Making YOUR Will Known To The Universe

The interesting thing about affirmations is not their structure. That's as simple as simple can be. Make up your mind what you want, and state this loudly and congruently, in the current tense, so that the Universe and the Powers-That-Be can hear you and everyone gets to work on your stated behalf - yourself included, on all levels and layers, of course.

In that way, the person who makes the affirmation becomes an agent for the Universe and a part of those Powers That Be who will "make the wish come true" or, deliver the affirmation.

But like so many things, for example, getting up on a stage and starting to sing your heart out, that is so simple and straightforward in theory, in practice and when you put the humans into the equation, it all goes to pieces.

EVERY person can sing. Loudly, at that. But they ...

... don't

... won't

... can't

... think they can't

... don't like the idea

... or what it might mean if they did

... or feel funny

... ad infinitum!

Every person knows a song, or two, or at least the beginning of a song.

But put them on the spot, and they don't know what to sing, can't make up their minds, go blank, feel funny AGAIN, and basically rather run away than to do this very, very simple thing of stepping up onto the stage, opening their mouths and letting "Row, row row your boat!" come out of it.

It's extraordinary how that works - and that strange convoluted process that people go through which causes them so much pain and structurally precludes them from doing this simple thing of stepping onto a stage and singing, for which they are so perfectly equipped by nature and nurture alike, is a wonderful simile for what happens when you ask a person to make up their mind what they want, step up onto a metaphorical stage and let the Universe know EXACTLY what that is.

In a way, affirmations are the ultimate "public speaking" as you're telling THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE what you want (!) and yeah, I guess we all know what the greatest fear known to civilised mankind would be ...

So here we have a system that is so insanely simple - Say out loud what you want out of life! - so totally natural, so absolutely direct - YOU get to address the Universe and all who reside their DIRECTLY, no middlemen, priests, or other authorities to go through first! - and still, humans manage to make a pig's ear of it.

Sad, isn't it!

And structurally, this thing of just saying what you want, or singing on a stage, or stepping up to someone and telling them you like them, all these insanely simple and BASIC things that humans can do, yes, they are all sound in both theory and practice, and yes, they really do work.

The only time they don't work is when the human operator goes to pieces and f***ks it all up.

So going back to affirmations, which are THE original form of magic spells, the first, primal, original way for a human being to let their will be known throughout the Universe, to change reality, to create reality in all ways - well, here is something of a challenge.

Can YOU make affirmations work, at last?

I believe that affirmations are a kind of human 101 of creating reality.

There are a million billion complicated things you can study and learn to do, some of which might take a lifetime to even begin to read at all, and yet, if you spend some time on this BASIC 101 challenge, and make THAT work, then you have a baseline of something REAL, something PRIMAL, something POWERFUL that also translates across then into all sorts of other areas of your life.

Affirmations, in my opinion, are the basic building blocks to taking control of our realities in a very personal and individual fashion.

So if you have given up on affirmations, thinking that "they don't work", think again.

The practice of affirmations, from deciding and creating the right ones FOR YOU, to delivering them without hesitation and in MASTERY, is a form of personal development learning, challenge and practice bar none.
