LOL!!!! You might apply some EFT on this. For it isn't true AT
ALL.
There are LOADS of people making money on the internet, WITH THE HELP OF
the marketing sharks and their teachings. Indeed, WITHOUT the teachings
of the marketing sharks you're completely buggered and will get nowhere
- slowly and painfully.
This is regardless of whether you are wanting to sell home made candles,
yourself into prostitution, your comics collection on ebay, intellectual
property or your services as a life coach!
Which is why marketing is a META business - ALL businesses need it, and
thus it's the biggest business of them all (well apart from the tax
business).
As to marketing being a game, you're spot on. Some of us might not
understand why folk like to play golf, or follow a football team around
and get all excited, or want to chase dangerous criminals round the
block in preference to a more sedentary life style, but that's people.
Marketing, once you get into it, is FASCINATING. Challenging, VERY
LOGICAL, numbers based, statistical, but at the same time with
unknowable components of magic and a dash of luck, a bit of gut and
intuition thrown in for the possibility of a real jack pot.
Hypnosis, languaging, graphics, state, behaviour, REAL LIFE FEEDBACK,
systems flow, and all of it dealing with REAL PEOPLE, and REAL MONEY.
It's the greatest game on Earth, so you could say, with the high scores
in the bank!
As to "ethical marketing", I'm having a good old go (which is why I left
the various marketing co-operatives I was in), because I believe that
"ethical marketing" can actually OUTPERFORM unethical marketing by
virtue of structure. Especially in the long run.
When you can take a system to any shark that outperforms what they've
already got by 12.7%, they will run THAT system in preference, because
they really do NOT care one way or the other, and the bottom line is the
delineator.
But seriously, Martin, your prayers for my immortal soul are appreciated,
and if you can find a nice prayer generator java script or something that we can sell, with resell rights,
I'll be happy to write the ad copy ...
Silvia :-)
