Ideas. When you're in business, you're always looking for "good ideas" to make your business grow, make the products better, add more services, stand out from the crowd, advertising opportunities and concepts, and so on and so forth.
I noticed with some interest that my ideas were getting more unusual and esoteric as time went by. I wondered why that was.
And then I figured it out!

It's because all the BASIC, SOUND, EASY, OBVIOUS good ideas already turned up many moons ago - and many of them were NEVER ACTED UPON. To the idea generator inside, this is like a rejection or just a, "Well, I told you that idea, and you keep asking for new ideas, so I won't resubmit that old idea ..." I bet you, if you look back on the old ideas you'll find that they're not only not bad ideas, but many are THE PERFECT ideas, THE RIGHT ideas, they just weren't implemented (correctly) at the time of you having them. There are many reasons for this "non-implementation of essentially sound ideas that would really make your business grow". Simple ideas like, "I'll have an ezine on my speciality once a month! I'll put sign up buttons and benefits to join on all my web pages! I'll put a link to it in all my signatures for forum posts and such! Yay! That'll work to build my mailing list! Establish me as an expert in my speciality! Bring about new opportunities and sales!" Is that idea still good? Still valid? Sure. Always is and always will be. Then WHY wasn't it implemented? Oh, all sorts of reasons. Getting bogged down in the technicalities of software for list servers, sign up buttons, free downloads, pop ups, madness ... Fire-fighting something else that came along at the time and simply forgetting about it ... Trying it and not getting great results right away and getting downhearted, giving up, fading out ... Getting involved with another get rich quick scheme that was also full of good ideas ... Mechanical disasters like harddrive crashes, losing all the addresses, moving house or getting sick ... Thinking about doing it and deciding it was too hassly, too difficult, and it PROBABLY WAS, way back then ... As I say, the reasons for NOT implementing a very good idea are like sand on a beach. But the idea was good. Perhaps, if it was revisited NOW, you know more, you are more experienced, less freaked out, perhaps you have gained focus, stature and knowledge of web systems, or perhaps technology has come along since then that didn't exist back then but now makes this idea perfectly feasible (like POD, YouTube, or blogs)? Perhaps the 3 ideas that would totally TRANSFORM your business TODAY, are amongst those old ideas that were sort of discarded along the way ...? I'm even nodding to myself as I'm writing this. I'm right about this, I can feel it. Test this with me. For just one whole day and night, do not ask for a "new breakthrough idea" but instead, ask yourself, which three old ideas you already know about whose time has NOW come, to be implemented with competency and power, with focus and positive attitude, and which REALLY WILL transform your business - and give you that real breakthrough you've been looking for all along. LOL. And so perhaps the idea of looking at your old ideas is the new breakthrough idea I had today. Go for it!!!
